Summer is ending, but not in Siena: in fact, a rich calendar of events continues to come alive in the city. From the return of Siena Fit Week, which combines sports and entertainment in the historic Fortezza Medicea, to exhibitions and the Siena Summer Festival, which continues with live music, literary insights and more! A month to say goodbye to a summer that gave us so much excitement!

SPORT
Siena Fit Week: CrossFit returns to the Fortezza Medicea September 9-10, 2023. This year, the event expands, offering a two-day event of sports, health, music and fun in one of Siena’s most picturesque locations.
The second edition features a variety of events, including the StrongHoldBattle, theInferno Short, theObstacle Course Race and the Laser Run, as well as free classes and demonstrations given by top Italian athletes and instructors.
La StrongHoldBattle is transformed into a team challenge, making the atmosphere even more engaging, with an increased emphasis on team strategy. In addition, free time is provided to explore Siena or relax in the Medici Fortress.
L’Inferno Run is an obstacle race open to all, with two competitive sprint and supersprint events in the city.
Free classes and demonstrations cover a wide range of fitness disciplines, providing an opportunity for participants to experience different techniques with top Italian instructors.
An eclectic event combining fitness, competition and fun, enhanced by music and food and wine, in the beautiful setting of Siena.

SHOWS AND CONCERTS
The Siena Summer Festival ‘s schedule of events continues in the Medici Fortress with a vast program featuring live music, literary reviews with prominent names from the local and national scene, sunset DJ sets and more. An all-dancing ‘goodbye’ to summer, sipping cocktails, immersed in a magical atmosphere.

The Chigiana International Festival & Summer Academy through Sept. 2, 2023 will offer performances dedicated to music, music theater and other related events, divided into six engaging thematic tracks centered on the concept of “Word.”
Under the guidance of artistic director Nicola Sani, the Chigiana International Festival & Summer Academy aims to explore the broad spectrum of the word through an artistic journey spanning different eras and musical styles.

EXHIBITIONS AND GUIDED TOURS
It is scheduled at the Santa Maria della Scala Museum Complex the exhibition Raggioverde, a group show of 23 artists and 250 works that arise from more than a year of meetings and comparisons between artists and the scientific world. Landscape and the environment, art and sustainability: these are the two binomials at the heart of the exhibition “Greening. The exhibition will remain open until September 13, 2023.
A Palazzo Chigi Zondadari on display until November 9, 2023 “Àitason” by Paolo William Tamburella, a project that transforms the courtyard and halls of Palazzo Chigi Zondadari in Siena’s Piazza del Campo into an exhibition space dedicated to works site-specific of Italian and international artists invited by Flavio Misciattelli, president of the Palazzo Chigi Zondadari Foundation, to freely interpret the space.
SIENA AWARDS PHOTO FESTIVAL
The Siena Awards Photo Festival is coming back, enlivening Siena, Sovicille and Chiusdino from September 30 to November 19, 2023. This year, the festival opens up even more to the local community, with the Drone Photo Awards group show hosted at the Abbey of San Galgano.
The 2023 edition promises big names in international photography, such as William Albert Allard, famous for his 50 years of work for National Geographic, and Brian Skerry, an expert in marine photography. Allard’s retrospective will explore his long career, while Skerry will immerse us in the world’s oceans through his work.
In addition, Siena Awards group shows will continue to celebrate the best shots and videos from around the world.
This visual arts event will extend beyond the borders of Siena, involving Sovicille and, for the first time, Chiusdino.
