An emotional journey of wine and culture on the most anticipated night of the summer, that of St. Lawrence
On August 10, on the night of San Lorenzo, the most anticipated night of the summer, Goblets of Stars returns to Siena for an emotional journey of wine and culture.
The event promoted by theNational Association of Wine Cities, of which the Municipality of Siena is one of the founding members, in collaboration with the Wine Tourism Movement, will be marked by a series of initiatives ready to involve wine lovers and more.
It starts with the extraordinary nighttime opening of the city’s museum routes. It will, in fact, be possible to visit, from 9 p.m. to midnight and free of charge, the Civic Museum of the Public Palace. One of the most evocative places in Siena where such emblematic and manifesto works of Sienese art as the frescoes of Simone Martini and Duccio di Buoninsegna are enclosed.
A tour that winds its way between the Resurgence Room, the World Map Room, the Ballroom and the Consistory Room. And again of the Nine and that of the Pillars until you reach the Loggia of the Nine from which to admire the Sienese countryside.
For a “Goblets of Stars” declined in music there is a concert at the Teatro dei Rozzi at 9:15 p.m. on the occasion of the 90th birthday of maestro Bruno Giuranna, violist and conductor, for years a teacher at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana.
This is a concert with paid admission that is part of the Chigiana International Festival & Summer Academy 2023 program of the Fondazione Accademia Musicale Chigiana.

For stargazing in the company of the Siena Astrophilic Union Association, the appointment, with free admission, is at the Orti dei Tolomei from 9 p.m. to midnight.
While the nose-up toast is in the Medici Fortress with selected Italian and foreign wines. The tastings, from 7 p.m. to midnight, organized by the National Association of Wine Cities will be accompanied by finger food.

As for Santa Maria della Scala, there is anextraordinary opening with free admission, from 9 p.m. to midnight (last admission 11:15 p.m.), of the level in Piazza Duomo and the temporary exhibitions “Aldo Mondino. Start.
An Unceasing Beginning” and “Raggioverde,” with musical accompaniment and gin and tonics under the stars.
