News for Tourists Arriving in Siena by Bus

Starting in August, from 9 AM to 7 PM, a shuttle service for tourist buses will be available. This service aims to improve the usability of parking areas near the city walls and enhance the overall experience for visitors accessing the historic center.

Available Vehicles

The shuttles will be environmentally friendly, high-capacity, and feature low-floor designs to facilitate boarding and alighting. They will be easily identifiable by the “Park Bus Shuttle” signage on the vehicles.

How Does the Service Work?

During non-school hours, the shuttles will continuously connect the Pescaia Alta drop-off point with Campino di San Prospero. On the return trip (from Campino to Pescaia), the route will extend to the “Fagiolone” if tourists need to be picked up from San Prospero to be taken to the “Fagiolone” to rejoin their buses. Once the shuttle departs from the “Fagiolone,” it will return to Pescaia Alta to start a new cycle. During school hours, the shuttles will continuously link the Fagiolone with Campino di San Prospero, as tourist buses will not be able to reach Pescaia Alta to ensure the area is available for students and local public transport lines dedicated to them.

Tourist buses that choose the Pescaia Alta drop-off during non-school hours will drop off passengers at Pescaia Alta, and the passengers will board the shuttle to San Prospero. After visiting the historic center, passengers will return to Campino and board the waiting shuttle, which will take them directly to the Fagiolone parking lot to rejoin their bus. During school hours, buses will stop at the Fagiolone, where the shuttle will pick up tourists and take them to San Prospero. Therefore, tourists whose buses drop off at Pescaia Alta will start and finish their visit to the historic center at Campino di San Prospero using the shuttles. During the renovation of Campino, a temporary stop area will be organized in Via Veneto.

Buses that choose the San Marco drop-off will be able to go directly to San Marco, drop off passengers, then move to the Fagiolone for parking. They will return to San Marco to pick up tourists at the end of their city visit.
