St. Catherine of Siena: A Pillar of Faith and Dedication

St. Catherine of Siena, born in 1347 and died in 1380, left an indelible mark as a religious, theologian and mystic. Proclaimed patron saint of Italy and co-patron saint of Europe, she dedicated her life, characterized by deep fasting and penance, to helping others. Today she rests in the Basilica of Santa Maria sopra Minerva in Rome, but her spirit lives on in the places in Siena that witnessed her faith.
