The decision was made by the city administration, in agreement with the Deputies of the festival and the Captains of the ten participating Contradas.

Details of the Day on July 3

Today’s schedule is as follows:

  • 5:10 PM: Clearing of the track.
  • 6:50 PM: Victory Flag-Waving in front of the Palazzo Pubblico.
  • 7:00 PM: Horses exit from the Entrone in the Courtyard of the Podestà.

The Rain and the Postponement

Yesterday afternoon, rain began to fall on Piazza del Campo just as the ten Contradas had already been called to the ropes by Mossiere Bartolo Ambrosione. The bad weather made it impossible to hold the race safely, forcing the organizers to postpone the event. The order of the Contradas established yesterday will be maintained for today’s race.
